Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich has proposed spending billions of non-existent taxpayers' dollars to build
a permanent manned colony on the moon. Skeptics believe Newt's plan is to rid the earth of redundant poor people.
Kvetchers wanted to know if local residents might be interested in relocating to this new off-world colony.

Hell, no! It’s hard enough living down here! What the hell I want to go up on the moon for?

No, man, I don't want to live on the frickin’ moon. This is life, man; this is where the life is.
This is frickin’ life. You have to live the life, man. If you don’t frickin’ live the life, man,
what the frick are you doing, man? Got to be frickin’ be original, man. We’re being
original people, man, right? Any day frickin’ any day above ground is a good day, man.

I was with him for four years. He didn’t work. The most that he probably worked through that
whole time was two weeks. Maybe three if I’m feeling nice. I put up with it for awhile. That’s on
me. I paid for it, but I mean, come on, now! I took care of him.
How could you let this go! It
was worth it because now I know what I’m not looking for and I know what to expect next time.

Well, she told me she loved me and then she left me the same night. But she
still wanted to be with me, so — that doesn't really make sense to me.

kvetches about television, Obama and Wall Streeters

One of the things I hate most about television are the incessant, horrific advertisements that
just scream at you. I think what they try to do is, get you into this position of thinking that you
need this stuff and it’s just a bunch of malarkey and, you know, I think I can handle some of the
TV programs —I’m very selective about it, but I cannot handle the TV ads. I don’t think you have
the freedom to discover who you are because you’re constantly trying to become what they tell you
you need to become so that you can become better consumers. And (life)’s not about consuming, it’s
about self-knowledge and finding out who you are and what makes you happy, and consuming
items is not what makes you happy. They want to convince you of that, but it’s not true.

(Obama) disappointed me quite a bit. I was hoping for another FDR and we’re getting a sort of
mini-Reagan. I want a more progressive president who is seriously focused on how we need to get
out of this horrific depression that we are in and get jobs back to this country, meaningful jobs that
pay good wages and I don’t know how much of that is being done. (The Wall Street bigwigs who
staged the crash of 2008) should be in jail. Yes, they should be, but I guess they’re doing just the
sort of same thing they were doing before and they haven’t had to pay any consequences for what
they’ve done to this country and to this world. So that would probably be
something real important that needs to get done.

No, man, chickens are so smart. I met a chicken one time, he used to come to our house every day
and hang out with the neighbor’s cat in her front yard and they’re very loyal, very loving animals.
I’d love to have chickens, you know? You shouldn’t be buying your eggs at the grocery store
when it takes next to no effort to have chickens at your house, you know?

kvetches about power-mad authority figures

The police I’ve never run into any difficult encounters with. They’ve been nice to me in times
when I’ve been busking in places where I really shouldn’t be busking — Waterfront, that kind
of thing. They’re usually pretty cool. Those assholes on the TriMet — I hope they never see me
saying this: I have received a ticket for having an expired pass on the Max. They get on the train
one stop after they have left the free-ride zone and then need everybody to whip out their valid
fare, and not only do they need you to have valid fare, they need you to have all your papers on
you, your proof of I.D. — I was next to a woman who just happened to not have a wallet on her
and was treated like she was a criminal. They told her that they were phoning in her identity to
the police station and if she was lying about any of the features on her I.D. — like her weight or her
eye color,she would be subject to a $175 fine and a court date. I wasn’t upset for me — I mean, I’m
just legitimately poor and didn’t have valid fare, so if they feel like they need to fine me, that’s one
thing. But this woman next to me just didn’t have her I.D. on her. I wish that the TriMet employees
did not have the sense of power trip, authoritarian, ‘I need to control everyone and get revenue
for the city by taking advantage of people.’ That is one thing that I am informed
about through experience and don’t appreciate.

kvetches about Uranium Mining

Yeah, well, you know — the price of uranium — they want to come in, into Oregon now, and they
want to mine it, you know, and this comes after a campaign of villifying Iran and saying they’re
trying to buy yellowcake and also across the globe increasing sanctions not to do business with
Iran or trade with them. Well, we notice now this company from Australia all of a sudden because
the price is right, they want to come into Oregon and they want to mine uranium that was done like in
the ’50s. And the feds aren’t going to make any money out of it because of the Federal Mining Act
of 1872 and neither is the state of Oregon going to make any money out of it as far as taking the
uranium out of the ground. It’s going to cause a lot of reclamation because they’re still reclaiming
land from when they mined uranium before and we’re going to be left with the bill of cleaning up our
land and the sickness. We know that (uranium) tailing piles — (uranium) 238 — has a half-life of 84
years, it’s an alpha emitter, it exposes people, it makes them sick.We have high lung cancer rates down
there around Lakeview where they mined uranium before, so why should Oregon become a nuclear colony
for some soulless corporation, where the profits aren’t even going to stay in the state? The cost of dealing
with the cancer, the remediation, the cleaning up the water and the land, that’s just an externality to the corporation, you know. We’ll carry the weight here in Oregon, but we won’t get the corporate dividends, you know, and that’s a typical capitalistic misdeal, I would say, and not to Oregon’s advantage to let this company come in here. Let’s start thinking about protecting ourselves with human rights laws, with international laws and treaty laws for native American people because this will affect the Piute-Shoshone. They’re trying to sell it to them now that this will create 450 jobs, but I know they were down there at the Nevada test site supporting the Western Shoshone and I have a hard time thinking that the Piute-Shoshone — who have a long-time memory of how it was in this land and a long-time memory of how to deal with problems — for a short-time couple paychecks I have a hard time thinking they’re going to bite on this one. I think thatthey’re not going to go along with it. And if they need any help, there’ a lot of people around Oregon that’ll help ’em.

kvetches about finding the divine within

We are God. We are sparks of God. We are the essence of God. We’re it. And we have the ability
to create a new world. We have the power to shift consciousness and we also have assistance from
the unseen spiritual world. So we’ve come to a fork in the road. Just most recently, I have been feeling
that I am somehow connected to this civilization call the Lemurians that reside under Mount Shasta.
And it’s a whole civilization that’s learned how to — or grows their own food and has sister cities
underground. And how I’m connected to that civilization is that they’re peaceful light beings — light
workers who really want to — there’s no violation in their way of living. They don't live to violate.
And my life has been characterized — it’s been showing up to me that I am a light worker. I’m very
interested in helping people, uplifting people, encouraging people, helping them heal whether it be on
a physical level or an emotional level, or a spiritual dimension of their life. I feel that this fork in the
road is leading me to consider and listen to how the spirit realm of extraterrestrials, ascended masters
and angels are really here to assist me in ascending to a higher state of consciousness that will affect
not only my own state of consciousness, but I will be able to help others ascend and go beyond
what the mind can do. The mind is pretty finite and it only works within a box, and I’ve
really been a person outside the box my whole life.

Well, the mind can only go so far. The mind is finite. It’s not infinite in its way of perceiving our
own magnificence. And, because of all the conditioning the mind has learned from the time we’re born,
we tend to live pretty small lives. And I think I’m right on the threshold of making choices to ascend
above my mind and transcend the physical so that I can go beyond that and experience my Godness.
